Training Setback

Ashley Curry: My training regimen has consisted mostly of cardiovascular endurance development. This has included hiking at Oak mountain State Park, running stadium steps at the local high school, stair master and eliptical walkers at the gym, and bicycling (both road and mountain biking). I have had no problems until this past Sunday. While sprinting from the den to the kitchen I stubbed my toe on the recliner. Alas, I have a broken toe! This will be a minor inconvenience in my preparation. It would take much more than this to keep me from going.

So it wasn't the biking, hiking, climbing, or running that broke your toe, but a Lazy Boy recliner strategically placed for toe-stubbing? Let's hope it heals up soon -- Kilimanjaro is right around the corner!

I like your enthusiasm Ashley. What was in the kitchen again? Must have been something really good for an all out sprint.

Good luck guys!

It only seems fitting that Anna is required to overcome another obstacle as she prepares for this amazing challenge because it is so typical of the challenges faced every day by people with OI.

We are all pulling for the Curry team. Anna's decision to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro to raise money and awareness for OI is an inspiration to the entire OI community and we could not be more proud of her. Roger Bache, OIF Board President.

Hopefully the toe is all healed and you are ready for the climb. Both of you are an inspiring. I can't wait to read the blog during your climb.

Best of luck to both of you!
