Day 2
Anna called me at 5:30 p.m. Africa time to report that they are still on the move today. They started around 8:30 this morning and have been climbing straight up, 6 miles so far. She was in good spirits and happy about their progress. She mentioned that yesterday was tough for her due to a reaction to the altitude medication that she took. It caused a rapid heart beat and breathing difficulties. She said that she did not take the medication today and she feels fine. We did not get a chance to chat long, as we were cut off in mid-conversation. I have not heard back from her in the past hour, so I assume she lost her signal for now...

Hi Anna and Ashley! I wasn't able to get my group together today to post a comment so I will just quote from a student's Thank You letter to Anna. Dailey said, Thank you sooo much! You really changed the way I feel about things. Now I know to try harder and reach for the stars. I should never shut my dreams off. I love how you always keep trying. Ill never look at things the same way again. Thank you more than ever. P.S. You rule!" I think Dailey hit the nail on the head. I have this quote on the wall in my classroom. "If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, you are a leader." John Quincy Adams Thanks, Anna, for giving them such a great example! Rowena Macnab
