" If they get there early enough, they will go ahead and push to the summit " ... if they get there early enough, (on Monday, Sept. 14, we left Arrow Glacier Camp at 5AM and made it to the top of the Western Breach - the crater floor - at 11:30AM) and after lunch and a well deserved rest, I hope they feel well enough to make the short, 40 minute, easy hike up to see the ash pit. It was/is well worth it ... regardless, Peggy & I will be offering up all the spiritual help possible ... after making it this far, there's absolutely NO doubt in my mind they can and will make it up this last tough section ... and then it's all just a piece of cake, a walk in the park - Kilimanjaro Park :-)! Mount up with wings... My favorite verse, Marga. Here's what I hope for them now... That they will hang on the moment when they make it to the top. Anna and Ashley have a standing appointment with the creator of that great mountain, God. Even that mountain can't be greater than him. Looking out at vast oceans... leaves falling...rare moments when the world gets quiet, God speaks volumes. Prayers and Love.

So glad to hear you made it to Arrow Glacier Camp still feeling pretty good! As I type this, you should be halfway up the Western Breach, and are probably stopping for a tea-and-cookies break. I know you are enjoying the incredible views of God's creation! And once you reach that crater rim, all the hard part will be behind you. And a shower is only two days away! -Peggy

Mark and Mrs. Curry, thank you so much for keeping us all in the loop! My brother and I are regularly checking this blog and we are both so inspired by Anna. We are optimistic that we'll soon see the blog update saying they've made it to the summit!

IMPRESSIVE is the word. I wish I had my students every day so they could send messages more regularly. We will definitely check in Monday and Tuesday this week. I have no doubt you all will make the summit. What an adventure! Thanks for the animal updates. My students are very interested in that. When you come back to see the kids I hope you can bring your dad with you.

WOW! It's unbelievalbe to think you're in Africa climbing a mountain while I'm here in LA (Lower Alabama). Uncle Ben and I told our Sunday school class about y'all today and they are amazed. Inspiring is what you are. Can't wait to see pictures and hear the stories. We are waiting for every message with true hope.
Love y'all,
Becky
